American Airlines Flight Diverted to Logan Airport Due to Disorderly Passenger
A flight from Miami to Paris was diverted to Logan Airport late Wednesday night in order to remove a male passenger that allegedly got into an altercation with a flight attendant.
The plane made the unplanned landing at approximately 10 p.m. after 50-year-old Edmund Alexandre, of Paris, France, had to be detained by a federal air marshal onboard. According to WHDH, he had allegedly lunged at a flight attendant.
State police arrested Alexandre and charged him with interfering with a flight crew.
The Associated Press reported that he was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital to receive “treatment of a pre-existing medical condition.’’ When he is considered to be in good condition, he will be arraigned in East Boston District Court.
There were no injuries reported as a result of the incident.
