Louisiana Through the Eyes of a Miss USA Contestant
The Miss USA pageant will take place Sunday night in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at the Baton Rouge River Center. The 51 contestants have been busy traveling the state over the past couple of weeks. We thought we’d show you beautiful Louisiana through their eyes, courtesy of social media.
The contestants arrived in Baton Rouge on May 25 to begin pre-pageant activities:

Brooklynne Young, Miss Oklahoma, tweeted the view from her hotel, the L’Auberge Baton Rouge, before registration.

Miss Louisiana and Miss Alabama learned to cook southern-style with lots of heat at the Louisiana Culinary Institute.

Miss Georgia, Miss Idaho, Miss Wyoming, Miss South Carolina, and Miss Florida posed on the steps of the Old State Capitol.

Tony’s Seafood Market and Deli is a quintessential Louisiana experience. Miss Mississippi, Miss Nebraska, Miss Maine, and Miss Maryland enjoyed the local shellfish there.

The contestants had afternoon tea southern-style at the Houmas House Plantation and Gardens.

The women were put to work at the Nottaway Plantation. Miss Louisiana, Miss Alabama, and Miss Oklahoma shucked oysters at a seafood boil.
