Walt Disney World’s 20th Annual Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival, which runs for 75 days began on March 6 in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Take a look at some of the designs in this year’s display.

Floral versions of Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Pluto and Donald Duck (with Daisy Duck in a cameo)) greet guests in a celebratory cookout scene at the Epcot front entrance. The 14-foot-tall Goofy topiary bobbles an anniversary cake while Donald and Daisy play badminton, Mickey fires up the grill, Pluto swipes a link of hot dogs and Minnie chills out on a colorful blanket of blossoms.

Disney gardeners introduced their first-ever topiaries of Mike and Sulley, who return to the big screen this June in the Disney-Pixar film “Monsters University.” This is the first year that most every garden and topiary at the festival is lighted at night for maximum guest viewing.

A topiary of Lightning McQueen, the racecar from the Disney-Pixar hit film “Cars 2,” makes a home at the Radiator Springs garden. Radiator Springs is a colorful garden where children can practice driving and play on climbers.

Evy Olson and daughter Morgan, 17, of Bismarck N.D., explored the new garden marketplace. The pair stop at L’Orangerie marketplace in the France showcase to taste a tart made with zucchini, eggplant, bell peppers, onions, tomato and goat cheese.

Topiary design specialist Michelle Willett worked behind the scenes to add color and detail to a likeness of Peter Pan.

A Disney topiary specialist worked in the topiary greenhouse on the Daisy Duck topiary, which will be featured as part of the “Party with Mickey and Friends” character scene.
