Beach towns are beautiful and fun and relaxing and one of the best in the world is right here in New England, according to Travel + Leisure.
The travel publication recently released a list of the 15 most beautiful beach towns around the world and included Bar Harbor, Maine.
“While you’ll find photogenic beach towns worldwide, we wanted to discover the ones where beauty reigns supreme,” wrote the publication.
Here is what Travel + Leisure wrote about Bar Harbor:
A gateway town to Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, Maine, is the perfect example of that blend of human-made and natural beauty. To witness both simultaneously, stroll along the Shore Path, which starts at the Town Pier next to Agamont Park, at sunrise. Look out for the Bar Harbour Inn, the Porcupine Islands, and Egg Rock Light, a lighthouse dating back to the 1870s. Be sure to also take a drive down the 27-mile, very scenic Park Loop Road to take in the views.
Bar Harbor was named the best small town in America by U.S. News & World Report for the past three years and Sand Beach at Acadia National Park was recently named among the best beaches in America by Lonely Planet.
