Skiing can be expensive. The average cost of a single-day lift ticket at a destination ski resort in the U.S. is around $250, according to a report in The New York Times.
Some skiers save money by buying season passes like Ikon or Epic, good for multiple resorts. For those who pay per trip, we’ve rounded up mountains across New England offering lift tickets for under $100 during the 2025-2026 season. What’s more, some spots are even free.
It’s worth noting that daily lift ticket prices are often dynamic and subject to change, midweek tickets are less expensive, and tickets bought online in advance are often cheaper. Also, some of these prices will drop late in the season, making spring ski trips even more affordable.
Blue Hills Ski Area in Canton: Tickets cost between $20 and $75.
Bosquet Mountain in Pittsfield: An online adult ticket is $45 midweek, $79 on weekends, and $89 on holidays.
Nashoba Valley Ski Area in Westford: An adult 4-hour lift ticket starts at $75.
Ski Butternut in Great Barrington: An online adult ticket is $40 midweek, $90 on weekends, and $95 on holidays. Tickets are $25 on Fridays (excluding holiday periods).
Wachusett Mountain in Princeton: An adult ticket for less than eight hours is $89 midweek or less and $99 or less on weekends and holidays, depending on the time slot chosen.
Black Mountain in Jackson: An adult ticket starts at $62.
Cannon Mountain in Franconia: An adult midweek ticket is $99.
Cranmore Mountain Resort in North Conway: An adult midweek ticket is $99.
Crotched Mountain in Bennington: An adult midweek ticket is $79.
Gunstock in Gilford: An adult midweek ticket is $94.
Loon Mountain in Lincoln: Adult midweek tickets start at $70.

Camden Snow Bowl in Camden: An adult midweek ticket is $51.
Mt. Abram Ski Area in Greenwood: Tickets are $42.
Pleasant Mountain in Bridgton: Adult midday tickets start at $35, daily tickets are $97.
Sugarloaf in Carrabassett Valley: An adult midweek ticket starts at $68.
Sunday River in Newry: An adult midweek ticket starts at $70.
Bolton Valley Ski Area in Bolton: An adult midweek ticket is $99.
Burke Mountain in East Burke: An adult ticket starts at $50 midweek. Pay $25 between Jan. 7 and March 25 on Wednesdays during LL Bean Wednesdays.
Pico Mountain in Killington: An adult ticket starts at $77.
Smugglers’ Notch in Jeffersonville: An adult midweek ticket is $85.
Storrs Hill Ski Area in Lebanon, N.H. is free all season, thanks to a gift from the Jack and Dorothy Byrne Foundation.
Mt. Eustis Ski Hill in Littleton, N.H. operates on a donation basis so skiing is free, but a $5 donation is suggested for a day pass.
Veterans Memorial Recreation Area in Franklin, N.H. is hosting several free weekends this season during Community Free Ski Weekends, thanks to local sponsors. Otherwise, adult tickets cost $15 midweek and $30 on weekends.
