The Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad, part of the Granite State Railway, is launching a new experience this summer: an immersive train journey from Meredith to Plymouth.

The 4.5-hour excursion, called the Alouette, will showcase “breathtaking views” of Lake Waukewan and Ashland Summit, according to the Granite State Railway, and travel over the Ashland High Trestle and past the Bonnie Brae Deer Farm and Glove Hollow Christmas Tree Farm before stopping for a two-hour layover in Plymouth for dining, shopping, sight-seeing, and relaxing on the town common.

The day trip will be offered just four times this summer: July 11 and 25 and Aug. 8 and 22 (every other Friday in July and August). Travelers will depart from Meredith Station at 11 a.m.

The White Mountains Attractions Association, the marketing organization for 17 major attractions in New Hampshire’s White Mountains region, is gearing up for another busy season after last season generated an estimated $656.2 million.

“We are excited to welcome new visitors and past guests back for a summer filled with both cherished traditions and new experiences,” said Charyl Reardon, president of the association, in a statement. “The unique experiences offered by our attractions and the region’s access to natural spaces for outdoor recreation have been essential in attracting millions of visitors year after year—strengthening our communities, supporting small businesses, and sustaining jobs for many residents across the region.”

Tickets for the Alouette excursion cost $56.99 for adults and $44.99 for children age 4-12 for coach and $74.99 for adults and $62.99 for children in first class. Kids age 3 and under are free. Travelers interested can book the adventure here.
