Nantucket travelers have another lodging option this season after a centuries-old property debuted this week following a complete redesign.

The Martin by Greydon House, formerly known as The Martin House Inn, is a 15-room boutique hotel on Centre Street, a short walk from the island’s shops, beaches, and restaurants.

The 1803 property, which opened June 10, is part of the Greydon Hotel Group’s portfolio of bed & breakfasts, inns, and boutique hotels on Nantucket. Its namesake property, Greydon House, opened in 2017.

The island getaway offers “a modern, cozy-meets-contemporary feel,” according to a press release.

“We are eager to welcome guests into The Martin following its thoughtful redesign,” Garison Beale, general manager of Greydon Hotel Group, said in a statement. “Through this reimagination, we are continuing to demonstrate the Greydon Hotel Group’s commitment to providing outstanding experiences for our guests.”

Designed by Nantucket Looms, the hotel was done over in blue, green, and grey, colors inspired by the island’s sky, sea, and moors.

Nantucket Looms used nautical design elements when redecorating the space. For example, guests enjoy pillows adorned in Seigaiha-inspired wave patterns, brass-and-rope mirrors, and white linen lampshades.

Travelers can choose from a variety of room types, including two spacious suites — the Studio King Suite and the Junior King Suite — and a Deluxe King with a private balcony. Guests enjoy pillowtop beds, Grown Alchemist toiletries, and plush robes.

A complimentary continental breakfast is served daily, comprised of baked pastries, muffins, and assorted fruits. Guests also enjoy complimentary home baked afternoon cookies.

For those seeking relaxation in the outdoors, the getaway offers a secluded back patio with lush gardens and a fire pit.

The home was originally built in 1803 for Nathaniel Sherman and his wife, Hepsabeth, and was transformed into a guest house in the 1920s.

Rates for The Martin by Greydon House begin at $395.
