New Hampshire’s North Conway has reclaimed its place on the ski town throne.

USA Today released a list of the 10 best ski towns in North America on Wednesday, part of its 2024 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards, and North Conway ranked No. 1.

North Conway has been on USA Today‘s list of best ski towns every year since 2016, ranking first place in 2016, 2017, and 2020.

“Beyond fresh snow and convenient access to the slopes, what makes the best ski town? For some, it’s having access to fantastic restaurants, bars, and shops. For others, it’s about great accommodation options, a small-town vibe, or a historic atmosphere,” according to USA Today.

North Conway offers skiing as well as snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ice skating, and dog sledding. The town also has local, tax-free shopping and restaurants and breweries.

Here’s what USA Today wrote about North Conway:

A ski town in its own right — the slopes of Cranmore Mountain Resort are just a few blocks off of the White Mountain Highway, the town’s main street — North Conway is also a convenient base for day-tripping to other classic New England ski areas like Black Mountain, King Pine, and Attitash. Formidable Mount Washington, the tallest peak in New England, can be explored by snow coach or the venerable Cog Railway, and the town’s cozy hotels and B&Bs promise a warm welcome after a winter day outdoors.

Another New England ski town made the list: Stowe, Vermont, ranked No. 3.
