Welcome back to Scenic Six.

Spring is my favorite season. The warmer weather, longer days, and outside activities bring so much joy after a long winter. This week, I’m sharing details about how folks can savor the season, specifically by camping in a state park and visiting one of the region’s many blooming daffodil fields.

Also on tap this week: the Newport Oyster & Chowder Festival, an increase in baggage fees by JetBlue, a big spring discount on lift tickets in New Hampshire, a Boston hotel offering complimentary tickets to the Paul Revere House in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, and more.

Walk through a field of gold this season

Daffodils are blooming all over New England. If losing yourself in a field of gold sounds like the perfect spring weekend to you, I’ve rounded up eight gorgeous places for viewing daffodils across Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.

A Jack Kerouac Center is taking shape in Lowell

Any Jack Kerouac fans here? (raises hand). Then you’ll find this news exciting: A historic Lowell church tied to the late novelist, poet, and Lowell native purchased by country singer Zach Bryan is slated to become a Jack Kerouac Center. Plans include a museum, restaurant, performance venue, and recording studio. Find out more.

Your camping guide for Massachusetts state parks

My kids love camping, so we’re hoping to sleep under the stars this year. Camping at Massachusetts state parks opens this week, and I’ve got all the information you need to know. Find out the cost, how to reserve a campsite, the types of accommodations offered (yurt camping, anyone?), rules for bringing pets, and more.

I’ll leave you with this photo of Boston’s beautiful Citizens Opera House that I took last week while there for a performance of “The Outsiders” (excellent show, I highly recommend).
