Happy (belated) Thanksgiving! I’m feeling thankful that my son is home from college and we’ll all be together this week. With various regional ski mountains opening recently, we may even hit the slopes this weekend for his birthday.
For those planning a New England getaway in the coming months, I’ve rounded up a list of regional hotels offering Black Friday specials. I’m also writing about the best ski town in America (it’s not far away), new JetBlue routes from Boston in 2026, the North End Holiday Stroll, and more.

Story Land, the 35-acre fairy tale theme park in Glen, N.H. that first opened in 1954, is bringing back two iconic rides in 2026: Turtle Twirl and Crazy Barn. Guests at the White Mountains park can save up to $50 off 2026 season passes during the park’s Black Friday sale.
New England has the best ski town in America
And the best ski town in America is …. drum roll please … North Conway, New Hampshire! OK, so this is not a huge surprise, since the town has earned this title before. But USA Today readers can’t get enough of it, and for good reason. We love it there for the skiing, restaurants, shops, and overall winter beauty.
