Welcome back to Scenic Six.

The weather is getting cooler, so I have skiing on the brain. Three New England ski resorts just ranked among the best in America. Find out where they are in this week’s newsletter.

Also, I’m writing about a new glamping spot opening in the White Mountains, an Inn to Inn Cookie Tour this holiday season, deals on flights, and more.

My daughter keeps asking where we’ll ski this winter. Lucky for her, we have so many top-notch ski resorts here in New England to choose from. In fact, three local ski destinations were just named among the best in the U.S. by Conde Nast Traveler readers: Bretton Woods in New Hampshire and Killington Resort and Stowe Mountain Resort in Vermont. Have you skied at them?

There’s a new glamping spot coming to the White Mountains

For those already dreaming of warm summer escapes, Under Canvas just announced it will open a new location in the White Mountains in June. The glamping spot offers safari-style tents, private decks, an on-site concierge, and more. My family loves camping so I’m adding this to my list of summer excursions worth considering.

Downtown Portland’s charm shines through its historic buildings, vibrant shops and galleries, and the rare 18-foot-tall four-dial clock that anchors Congress Street. The Hay & Peabody Seth Thomas Clock at The Francis Hotel has been fully restored and the city is celebrating its 100th anniversary this week with a community art exhibit and rededication ceremony.
