Welcome back to Scenic Six.
From castles to lighthouses to silos, there’s certainly not a lack of unique vacation rentals on the planet these days. This week, I’ll tell you about the fun and quirky most wishlisted Airbnbs in New England (one is a treehouse shaped like the head of a fox!). Plus, discover discounted food and hotels, a new attraction on Boston’s Newbury Street, and more.
It’s so much fun thinking outside of the box when booking vacation accommodations. and some of the most wishlisted Airbnbs in New England offer that opportunity. They include a gingerbread house tower, a tiny glass house, and a treehouse shaped like a fox. I once slept on a boat in Amsterdam and in a tricked-out California pad dedicated to Prince — both memorable for sure.
Good Housekeeping recently named the 20 best places to visit worldwide in April and included two Massachusetts spots — Boston and Cape Cod. I’m behind them on this one. April is a great time of year in Boston, with the Red Sox taking the field at Fenway Park and runners taking to the streets for the iconic Boston Marathon. Also, it’s never a bad idea for a spring whale watch on the Cape.
Travel gets expensive. So I’ve rounded up a list of ways to save money while traveling in New England in April. Find out about savings on everything from transportation to restaurants to hotels to attractions. For some of the finds, you won’t spend a dime.
I’ll leave you with this photo of Phipps Tunnel on the Upper Charles Trail in Holliston, Mass., taken by reader Tommy Z.
