2 of best new breweries in America are in New England, according to USA Today readers
One is in Massachusetts.
Two new breweries in New England are serving up excellence, according to USA Today readers.
The publication recently named the 10 best new breweries in America, part of its 2025 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards, and two regional spots made the list: Hot Plate Brewing Co. in Pittsfield, Mass. ranked No. 3 and Caius Farm Brewery in Branford, Conn. ranked No. 5.
The new breweries on the top 10 list were founded in the past three years, since the beginning of 2022, noted USA Today.
Hot Plate Brewing Co. was named after co-founders Sarah Real and Mike Dell’Aquila, who first learned how to brew on a hot plate when their gas was turned off, wrote USA Today.

“Today, this inclusive 7-barrel brewhouse and taproom in downtown Pittsfield is an excellent third space, and home to stellar beers, coffee and tea, and home-baked goods,” wrote the publication.
Hot Plate Brewing Co. officials celebrated on Facebook, writing:
Thank you to everyone who voted, shared with family and friends, and cheered us on along the way. We know this isn’t just a huge win for our team, but for the whole community who rallied around us and have been supporting us since before we even opened our doors in Downtown Pittsfield
Caius Farm Brewery is led by Caius Mergy, who “turned a derelict working farm into a farmhouse brewery, which resembles a Roman meeting hall and boasts a beer garden and a private hop yard to boot,” wrote USA Today.
Casius Farm Brewery officials thanked patrons on Facebook as well, writing:
We could not have done it without all of your support and help in voting this past month! Thank to everyone from the bottom of our hearts for believing in us, for supporting us, and for helping grow our brewery into what it is today!
The No. 1 new brewery is Frazier Creek Brewing & Distilling Co. in Stuart, Florida.

Other New England beer destinations were recognized by USA Today. Littleton, N.H. ranked No. 5 on a list of 10 best small town beer scenes (Avondale Estates in Georgia ranked No. 1) and Allagash Brewing Co. in Portland, Maine ranked No. 10 among the 10 best brewery tours (Tröegs Independent Brewing in Hershey, Penns. ranked No. 1).
For the 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards lists, USA Today travel experts select 20 nominees in topics from food to lodging, destinations to things to do. Then the publication asks readers to cast votes to determine the top 10.
