Woodstock Inn & Resort in Vermont’s Green Mountains was recently named among the best hotels on the planet by Conde Nast Traveler.
The hotel, billed as “Vermont’s most beautiful address,” dates back to 1793 and is a member of Historic Hotels of America.
The hotel’s 142 rooms and suites capture “the essence of Vermont,” according to the property’s website. Guests can choose from five room types — Garden, Woodstock, Tavern, Collection, and Legacy suites. The resort’s Morgan House, a short walk from the resort, sleeps eight people.

Garden Rooms feature king beds with pillow-top mattresses, hardwood floors, custom window treatments, vintage brass reading lamps, and a garden view.

Collection rooms are oversized rooms decorated in Vermont-inspired themes such as golf, hiking, skiing, and sugar houses.

The resort’s Collection rooms also showcase historic local art and photography from the Woodstock History Center and Billings Farm & Museum.

Tavern rooms have distinctive architectural elements such as reading nooks, built-in bookshelves, and hand-crafted cabinetry. Woodstock rooms sport cherry wood bed frames and Federal-era touches.
The resort’s Legacy suites include a master bedroom, parlor, and wet bar for entertaining. The Laurance S. Rockefeller Suite is a three-room suite inspired by Rockefeller’s personal rooms at the nearby Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller Mansion.

The LEED-certified Spa at the Woodstock Inn & Resort is a 10,000 square-foot spa featuring 10 treatment rooms. The spa has a Great Room, Scandinavian sauna, hot tub, outdoor pool, and a four-season courtyard.

The resort has two restaurants on site: The Red Rooster, and Richardson’s Tavern. The resort’s off-site restaurants are Perley’s Pourhouse at Saskadena Six Ski Area and the seasonal Fairway Grill overlooking the greens of the Woodstock Country Club.
The Red Rooster, a AAA Four Diamond-rated restaurant, is a casual dining experience where guests are served organic meats, specialty cheeses, and heirloom fruit and produce.

Richardson’s Tavern is a relaxed environment featuring craft brews and spirits. Guests can dine outside on the porch during the warmer months.

Kelly Way Gardens is the resort’s farm-to-table program. The Red Barns at Kelly Way Gardens is a refurbished 19th century red barn where the culinary team hosts Red Barn Dinners.

The resort offers a variety of activities and is ADA accessible and pet friendly.
