For travelers who relish creepy quarters this time of year, it doesn’t get much creepier than the Lizzie Borden House in Fall River, according to Thrillist.
The site released a list of the most haunted place in every state and the Lizzie Borden House was named the spookiest spot in Massachusetts.
Here is what Thrillist wrote, in part, about the hotel:
In case you don’t remember the world’s most disturbing nursery rhyme, Lizzie Borden hacked up her parents with an axe back in 1892. And now, you can sleep at the delightful B&B/infamous crime scene where it all happened. On your visit, you’ll stay at the Bordens’ home, eat their last meal (Johnnycakes and eggs), and sleep in the bedroom where the body of Lizzie’s stepmother was found. After a night there, I can attest: This home painstakingly furnished to look exactly as it did on the morning of the murders will creep you right out.
For those who can’t bear to stay overnight but want to experience the historic home, there are three daily tours: a 90-minute house tour between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., a 90-minute ghost tour between 7 and 9 p.m., and 2-hour ghost hunt from 10 p.m. to midnight.
