Boston is among the 8 most haunted cities in America, according to Conde Nast Traveler

, America’s oldest public park, has a past that makes Boston one of the most haunted cities in the nation, according to Conde Nast Traveler.

The publication named Boston among the eight most haunted cities in America that you should visit. Other cities on the list are Chicago, Honolulu, New Orleans, Portland, Ore., Savannah, Ga., San Antonio, and San Diego.
“What you’ll discover in these U.S. cities won’t make you scream — at least not right away,” the publication wrote. “Rather, these experiences will creep back into your brain long after you’ve gone home and when you least expect it (like at 3 a.m., keeping you awake all night).”
Criminals, women accused of witchcraft, those who defied Puritan leadership, and outcasts were publicly executed on the Common until the early 1800s.
“The Common is also the site of the Central Burying Ground, established in the mid-18th century, whose long-term residents included British common soldiers — in 1895, workers building the Boylston T stop discovered the remains of human bodies nearby,” CNT wrote.
Visitors to Central Burying Ground have reported experiencing ghosts, according to CNT.
