Few destinations ooze summer fun as much as boardwalks and one of the best in the nation is in Connecticut, according to USA Today readers.

The publication recently released a list of the 10 best boardwalks in America, part of its 2026 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards, and Ocean Beach Park Boardwalk in New London, Conn. ranked No. 7.

Here’s what USA Today wrote about Ocean Beach Park Boardwalk:

This New England gem combines classic boardwalk charm with modern amenities, anchored by its pristine half-mile beach and Olympic-size swimming pool. The spray park and triple water slide keep kids entertained, while adults appreciate casual dining options overlooking Long Island Sound. Spot ospreys and herons along the nearby nature trail, play a round of mini golf, or line up for an old-school carousel ride.

The No. 1 boardwalk in America is Wildwoods Boardwalk in Wildwood, N.J., according to the publication.

For the 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards lists, USA Today travel experts select 20 nominees in topics from food to lodging, destinations to things to do. Then the publication asks readers to cast votes to determine the top 10.
