Some colleges are attracting tourists as well as prospective students because of their gorgeous campuses and two of them are in New England, according to Travel + Leisure.
The travel publication released a list of the 30 most beautiful college campuses in the U.S. and Yale University in New Haven, Conn. ranked No. 15 and Wellesley College in Wellesley, Mass. ranked No. 19.
Yale University is a private Ivy League college founded in 1701.
About Yale, Travel + Leisure wrote, “The buildings span from the Georgian-style red-brick Connecticut Hall (whose construction predates the Revolutionary War) to the postmodern Ingalls Rink by Eero Saarinen.”
Wellesley College is a private women’s liberal arts college founded in 1870.
The 500-acre Wellesley campus has “pathways that meander through sprawling meadows and groves of conifers that surround tranquil Lake Waban, with 19th-century brick buildings tucked into the wooded hillsides,” wrote the publication.
