If you long for a beach getaway this season and feel time is running out, coastal stays during the fall are lovely in New England, according to Conde Nast Traveler.

The travel publication released a list of East Coast beach towns that are even better in the fall and included Nantucket, Kennebunkport, and Newport.

“Fall is a particularly magical time on the East Coast, when lighthouse lookouts  and cliffside walks are bathed in autumnal hues,” the publication wrote.

On Nantucket, “there are a lot of things to love about the island in the fall,” according to Conde Nast Traveler, such as Sankaty Head Lighthouse, Bartlett’s Farm (the oldest and largest family-owned farm on the island), and the Nantucket Conservation Foundation’s Fall Festival. Recommended places to stay include Greydon House and The Wauwinet, which offer packages and specials in the fall.

Fall travelers in Kennebunkport can enjoy the foliage at the Tyler Brook Preserve and Rachel Carson Wildlife Refuge and stay at The Wanderer, a collection of coastal cottages, or at Hidden Pond, wrote the publication.

“You can still get a lobster roll from Mabel’s or Alisson’s come October, don’t worry!” Conde Nast Traveler wrote.

Newport’s iconic Cliff Walk is surrounded by fall foliage in the fall.

“Pretend you’re a member of ‘The Gilded Age’ while sauntering (crowd-free) through The Breakers, Marble House, or The Elms, then head to Newport Vineyards for a taste of spiced wine, or Escobar’s Highland Farm to get lost in a corn maze,” the publication wrote.
