New luxury suites with sweeping views of the Mystic River just debuted in Connecticut

Travelers yearning for panoramic views of the Mystic River can book a stay at The Stanton House this season.
The Stanton House is the newest addition to The Whaler’s Inn, a historic boutique hotel on the waterfront in Mystic, Conn. The four-story building offers 10 luxury suites, including penthouses with sweeping views of the Mystic River and iconic Bascule Bridge.
The modern, New England-style rooms feature soft coastal hues, custom furnishings, and king and queen beds.
Travelers can choose from standard guest rooms, premier guest rooms, and penthouses with expansive balconies, fireplaces, living areas, and kitchens. There are also deluxe suites that combine multiple rooms, great for families and groups in need of more space.
The main floor has “the charm of a Captain’s library,” according to the team, and features wood accents, nautical decor, and views of the Mystic River. The Barber Room is the private dining space used for events and catered by James Beard Award-winning Chef David Standridge.
“The Stanton House is a natural evolution of our commitment to exceptional hospitality,” said Amanda Arling, president of The Whaler’s Inn, in a statement. “We are thrilled to offer our guests an unparalleled experience in downtown Mystic, where history and modern luxury seamlessly intertwine.”

The Stanton House is the sixth building in The Whaler’s Inn family. The other buildings are the Main Inn, Hoxie House, 1865 House, Stonington House, and Noank House.
Mystic offers a charming downtown, restaurants, shopping, museums, a waterfront steeped in maritime history, and attractions such as the Mystic Aquarium, recently named one of the top five aquariums in America by USA Today.
Standard rooms at The Stanton House begin at $330 per night, premier rooms $640 per night, penthouses $735 per night, and deluxe suites $965 per night.
