12 places to go snow tubing across New England

Plan your next snowy adventure this winter.

Winter in New England brings many opportunities for outdoor fun, including tubing down a snowy hill.

Ahead, check out some destinations where you can go tubing with family and friends, some of which include night tubing, LED lights, music, fire pits, cabanas, and hot chocolate. Hours and prices can vary during school vacation weeks and holidays.

Massachusetts

Blue Hills Ski Area tubing in Canton: Blue Hills Reservation, a state park managed by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, now offers lift-serviced tubing. Tickets cost $28 midweek and $32 on the weekend for 90 minutes. Winter boots are required, and snowboard boots may be rented for $20. Open daily. Guests must be 42 inches tall.

Bousquet Mountain in Pittsfield: Visitors have access to four lanes, a carpet lift, and can reserve a private cabana in Tube Town with a view of the lanes as well as fire pits and picnic tables. Open Thursday through Sunday. Tickets for 90 minutes of tubing cost $24. Guests must be 42 inches tall.

Nashoba Valley’s Snow Tubing Park in Littleton: This park, billed as the largest tubing park in New England, has two lifts and 17 lanes of tubing. There is a lodge with a snack bar, a full bar that serves beer, wine, and spirits, and indoor and outdoor seating. Open Wednesday through Sunday. Tickets are $49 for two hours. Guests must be 42 inches tall or 6 years old.

Maine

New Herman Mountain in Herman: Visitors speed down a 600-foot, slightly U-shaped slope and enjoy a tubing lift back up. Open Friday through Sunday. Tickets cost $20 for two hours and there is night tubing as well. Guests must be 3 years old.

Seacoast Adventure’s Snow Park in Windham: The 700-foot runs at this spot are serviced by a lift and include music, LED lights, and night tubing. Open select Thursdays and Friday through Sunday. The cost is $35 for two hours for those 48 inches tall. It costs $50 for a combo ticket, which includes a child tube and regular tube for kids between 40 and 47 inches tall.

The Edge Tubing Park at Black Mountain of Maine in Rumford: Visitors can choose between two 500-foot-long lift-serviced chutes. Open Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. There is night tubing on select Wednesdays. Tickets cost $25 and there’s no time limit. Guests must be 5 years old.

New Hampshire

Cranmore’s Tubing & Mountain Adventure Park in North Conway: The lift-serviced park has 10 lanes and is situated at Artist Falls Lodge. Cranmore is introducing Cosmic Tubing this season on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday nights and holiday and vacation weeks. Tubing costs $49 for two hours and children age 3 to 5 cost $15. It is ranked among the top tubing parks in the U.S. by USA Today readers.

Gunstock Mountain Resort in Gilford: The multi-lane tubing hill has a conveyor-style surface lift and night tubing. Open Wednesday through Sunday. Tickets cost $38 for two hours. Guests must be 42 inches tall.

Tenney Mountain in Plymouth: Choose between day and night tubing at this park with a surface lift. Open Friday through Sunday. Tickets cost $30 for two hours. Guests musts be at least 5 years old.

Vermont

Coca Cola Tubing Park at Stratton Mountain in Stratton: The multi-lane tubing area with lift service is located in the Sun Bowl, behind the Sun Bowl Lodge and to the right of the Solstice Lift. Visitors can also enjoy light refreshments, a fire pit, and night tubing. Open Thursday through Monday. Tickets cost $35 for 50 minutes. Guests must be 5 years old and 42 inches tall.

Jackson Gore Snow Tubing Park at Okemo Mountain Resort in Ludlow: The four-lane tubing park with lift service is located off the Stargazer Carpet in the courtyard of Jackson Gore. All tubes carry one person, but there is the option to join tubes and go down the lane as a group. Open Thursday through Sunday. Tickets cost $31 for riders age 7 and up and $25 for kids age 6 and under for 60 minutes, and guests may save money by purchasing in advance online. Guests must be 42 inches tall.

Mount Snow tubing in West Dover: Billed as one of the largest tubing hills in Vermont, the tubing area is located at the base of Mount Snow between the Main Base Lodge and the Grand Summit Resort Hotel. Visitors enjoy up to eight lift-serviced lanes. Open Friday through Sunday. Tickets cost $40 for two hours ($47 for unlimited hot chocolate) and riders must be 42 inches tall.
