If self care is what you’re after, four New England getaways are among the best in North America, according to Oprah Daily.
The first-ever Oprah Daily Hotel O-Wards, featured in the publication’s inaugural “Trips That Transform” travel issue, includes the following four stays: Miraval Berkshires in Lenox; Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stockbridge; Twin Farms in Barnard, Vermont; and Winvian in Morris, Conn.
“We think travel is the next frontier of self-care,” wrote Oprah Daily, formerly known as O, the Oprah Magazine, adding that the winners will “jump-start your healing journey.”
The publication named 68 favorite escapes in and near North America for 2024 and separated them into 10 categories such as “City Sanctuaries,” “The Grown-Up Slumber Party,” and “Turn Inward & Find the Universe.”
“These properties touch on every aspect of self-care: physical, emotional, spiritual, social, even sensual,” Oprah Daily wrote.

Miraval Berkshires made the “Yes, You Can” category, defined as “cathartic retreats that push your mental and spiritual boundaries.” Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health landed in the “Turn Inward and Find the Universe” category, defined as “silent retreats, yoga intensives, and other ‘me time’ musts.”
Meanwhile, Twin Farms and Winvian both made “The Vow Renewers” category, defined as “couples retreats, romantic getaways, and anniversary trips.”
“I like treating friends to beautiful spas, with a specific goal in mind,” Oprah said in a statement. “Even if that goal is just blissing out. Spa-ing is always, for me, restorative. My first spa was Rancho La Puerta at age 24. The first real vacation I’d saved up for. And there I met Ann Getty, who was celebrating her birthday and treating all her friends. That’s where the idea for me was born to do the same. I like adventures that allow for new experiences everyone can share.”
