The No. 1 hotel in the U.S. is in Nantucket, according to TripAdvisor
Plus, several other New England hotels garnered recognition in other categories.
Here’s one more reason to dream of summers on Nantucket: A Nantucket hotel is the best in the country, according to TripAdvisor’s 2017 Travelers’ Choice list, released earlier this week. The Nantucket Hotel & Resort, which has more than 650 ratings on TripAdvisor, was also named the No. 16 hotel in the world, the only hotel in the U.S. to make the international list. It was rated seventh in the U.S. for service.
The upscale Union Street Inn was once the home of whaling captain Edward C. Joy.
Another Nantucket hotel, the Union Street Inn, nabbed the top spot for small hotels in the country. It was also honored as the 19th best small hotel in the world and the 24th best in the country for service.
The Chanler was the first mansion on Newport’s famous Cliff Walk.
Also on the U.S. best small hotels list: The Belfast Bay Inn in Belfast, Maine; the Chanler at Cliff Walk in Newport, Rhode Island; and the Deerfield Inn in Deerfield, Massachusetts earned spots number nine, 13, and 25, respectively.
