If you’re struggling to find ways to fill the dog days, Martha Stewart, the queen of classy entertaining, has you covered. The original lifestyle guru included five New England finds in her list of “50 amazing ways to soak up the summer” across the country.
Below, Stewart’s picks for celebration of summer in New England.
1. Swim at Warren Falls in Vermont
Stewart recommends doing a “cannon ball” into the natural swimming holes on the Mad River.
Route 100 South, Warren, Vermont.
2. Celebrate (and eat) lobster in Rockland
Try dashing across floating crates in the water (and eat some lobster, too) during the Maine Lobster Festival in Rockland.
August 3-7: Harbor Park, Rockland, Maine.
3. Shop for antiques in Brimfield
Find a new treasure at the Brimfield Antiques Show, the largest outdoor antique show in the country.
July 12-17 and September 6-11: Route 20, Brimfield, Massachusetts.
4. Listen to jazz in Litchfield
The Litchfield Jazz Festival is celebrating “Generations of Jazz” during this year’s outdoor festival.
August 6 and 7: Goshen Fairgrounds, Goshen, Connecticut.
5. Enjoy some dancing in the Berkshires
Take in performances of flamenco, ballet, and contemporary dance by international artists at the historic Jacob’s Pillow festival.
