Former Obama rental on Martha’s Vineyard is for sale
Nearly every summer during his presidency — seven of the eight, to be exact — Barack Obama and his family spent a couple of weeks on Martha’s Vineyard.
But the first family didn’t stay in a little rental in Oak Bluffs. The Obamas always bunked at deluxe, super private spreads up island in Chilmark. Now, one of those homes — the summer White House in 2013 — is for sale. (Obama, his wife, Michelle, and their daughters, Sasha and Malia, actually stayed at the house last summer, too.)
The property, which is being handled by Wallace & Co. Sotheby’s International Realty on the Vineyard, is perched high above the Atlantic Ocean on the island’s south shore. It’s described as a “comfortable yet luxurious island retreat’’ with “panoramic ocean views, gracious skylights, huge windows and wonderful detail in both design and materials.’’
