Travelers can sleep in a one-of-a-kind luxury houseboat on the Kennebunk River in 2025.
White Barn Inn, Auberge Resorts Collection in Kennebunkport just added a floating accommodation to its roster. Called Cora Houseboat, it was inspired by the “intrepid spirit” of White Barn Inn’s founder Cora Toothaker and designed by New York-based Jenny Wolf Interiors.
“Carefully crafted to offer an unmatched coastal experience, the Cora Houseboat seamlessly blends comfort, privacy, and relaxed luxury,” wrote hotel officials on Facebook.
The Cora’s 512-square foot space features a king bed, bathroom, living room with a sleeper sofa, butler’s pantry, wet bar, 640 square-foot private rooftop, and a deck. The boat, secured to White Barn Inn’s private dock, sleeps four guests.

Guests will discover wide plank flooring, neutral walls, bamboo window shades, classic ticking and stripes, modern batiks, warm walnut finishes, and a color palette of teal, deep blue, and green, with touches of yellow.
Wolf, who also led White Barn Inn’s redesign in 2022, included similar design elements.

“It was crucial for us to ensure that the Houseboat seamlessly extends the essence of White Barn Inn while also establishing its distinct identity,” Wolf said, in a statement. “Guests can anticipate the sophisticated design synonymous with the Inn, enriched by playful coastal and nautical elements that contribute to its unique charm.”

Travelers who stay on the Cora will enjoy exclusive access to family dockside movie nights, rooftop yoga, and private whiskey tastings.
“We are thrilled to introduce the Cora Houseboat as an extension of White Barn Inn’s distinctive offerings that encapsulate Maine’s unique spirit,” said Heinrich von Puschendorf, general manager, in a statement. “This new addition allows guests to immerse themselves even further in the beauty of the Maine coast, offering a unique opportunity to make the houseboat their own private sanctuary away from home.”

A local landmark for more than 150 years, White Barn Inn offers 23 rooms and four standalone cottages along the Maine coast. Amenities include an outdoor infinity pool, an award-winning spa, two restaurants, and convenient access to Kennebunkport’s art galleries and shopping. The property’s White Barn Restaurant is a Forbes Five Star and AAA Five Diamond fine dining destination.
During its first year in service, the Cora will be available the first week of January and again in May. After that, it will be available year round.
The starting rate is $2,109.
Earlier this year, White Barn Inn was named among the best hotels in the U.S. by the Michelin Guide.
