Are you looking to plan an epic girls’ getaway? According to Travel + Leisure magazine, you don’t have to travel far.

Two New England locations landed on the publication’s list of America’s best cities for getting away with the girls, determined by the publication’s readers. Providence, Rhode Island, ranked No. 11, and Portland, Maine, ranked No. 13 (tying with Portland, Oregon, and San Juan, Puerto Rico) out of 19 rankings. The No. 1 spot went to New Orleans.

“Artsy” Providence made the cut for its galleries, classical music, and performance art, according to the publication.

T+L specifically pointed out Revival Brewing, a favorite for traveling women who love pizza and craft brews, and The Dean Hotel, which has bunk beds, a lobby coffee bar, and a karaoke bar with private rooms.

The very walkable Portland was lauded for the city’s Fore Street restaurant, as well as its First Friday Art Walk. During the walk, which takes place on the first Friday of the month, gallery doors stay open late and performers take to the streets. The Portland Museum of Art is also free on Friday nights.

Portland also scored points for its safe drivers and proximity to the Freeport, Maine, L.L. Bean flagship, which is open 24/7.
