A man gave his first-class seat to an 88-year-old and went viral. Now Virgin Atlantic is doing the same.

The airline said it's giving a complimentary upgrade to the "most seasoned" traveler on every flight through January 1.

A Virgin Atlantic flight. Virgin Atlantic

Virgin Atlantic announced Tuesday that it will give “complimentary upgrades” to the oldest passenger on every flight this holiday season, thanks to a traveler’s kind actions.

It all began when Jack Littlejohn boarded a Virgin Atlantic flight in New York earlier this month and decided to give away his business class seat, according to The Washington Post. He looked for a fellow passenger to swap with, and when he saw 88-year-old Violet Allison, he “instantly knew” he’d ask her, the publication wrote.

Flight attendant Leah Amy witnessed the gesture and was so impressed that she shared it on Facebook. The post went viral.

“He then sat on the row of seats directly next to the economy toilets and never made a peep or asked for anything the rest of the flight,” Amy wrote. “No fuss, no attention, literally did it out of the kindness of his own heart.”

Now, the airline is giving free upgrades to the “most seasoned” passenger on every flight between Dec. 24 and Jan. 1.

“This tale of Jack and Violet has warmed all our hearts this Christmas, and inspired us to spread the festive love,” the airline wrote while resharing the Post’s story.
