Frontier Airlines customers received an unwelcome email ahead of the busy Thanksgiving travel week
The airline apologized on Friday.
Frontier Airlines customers experienced a cancellation scare on Thursday, ahead of the busy Thanksgiving travel week.
The Denver-based low-fare carrier — which flies in and out of Terminal E at Logan Airport — emailed customers with the subject line, “There has been a change to your upcoming flight.” In the body of the email, they provided a number for a “rebooking hotline,” reported USA Today, which posted an example of the email.
Frustrated travelers couldn’t get through to the airline via phone and took to social media to voice their concerns, wrote USA Today.
The airline offered an explanation Friday morning via Twitter, saying the email was “sent in error” due to a “technical problem” and customers can confirm flights by entering a confirmation number on the Frontier website.
“We sincerely apologize,” wrote the airline in the tweet.
