Spirit Airlines will fly to San Juan beginning in December
The low-cost carrier will also add service to San Juan from Newark Liberty International Airport.
Bostonians who want to tour Castillo San Cristóbal, a centuries-old fort at the San Juan National Historic Site, can fly Spirit Airlines to get there beginning in December.
The Florida-based low-cost carrier announced this month it will begin nonstop daily service from both Logan International Airport in Boston and Newark Liberty International Airport in Newark, N.J., to Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Dec. 19.
“We are constantly looking for growth opportunities in our network and we are so proud of the growth we have had in Puerto Rico over the years,” said John Kirby, vice president of network planning for Spirit, in a press release. “We are very excited to continue providing our Guests low fares and nonstop flights to new destinations!”
The airline will also add an additional daily flight between Philadelphia International Airport and San Juan, beginning March 1, 2020.
In September, the airline announced it would debut new seats in November and share plans for a new cabin redesign this fall.
