A flight info service analyzed the world’s airports. Here’s how Logan stacked up.
Logan International Airport ranked in the top 10 among major North American airports.
Logan Airport ranks in the top 10 among major North American airports in the categories of fastest growing, best turnaround times, and percentage of seats operated by low-cost carriers, according to a recent report.
OAG, a provider of worldwide flight information, earlier this month published its North America’s Airport Leaders 2019 report, which ranked airports in six categories: busiest, fastest growing, most new routes, most international routes, best aircraft turnaround time, and highest percentage of seats operated by low-cost carriers.
Logan ranked No. 9 in the category of fastest growing airports, measured by departing seat capacity growth, with 5.2 percent growth (Orlando International Airport ranked No. 1 , with 7 percent growth). In the category of best turnaround times, Logan ranked No. 10 (the No. 1 spot went to Montreal Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport) based on the variance between the average on-time performance of flights arriving and average on-time performance of flights departing. And, finally, Logan ranked No. 9 in the category of low-cost collaborators due to the fact that 40 percent of seats at Logan Airport are operated by low-cost carriers (Chicago Midway International Airport topped this list, with 95 percent of seats operated by low-cost carriers).
