Three alligators just moved to New Hampshire.

Living Shores Aquarium in Glen just debuted the state’s only alligator exhibit. The exhibit is home to three alligators and other select species that call the Florida Everglades home.

The new exhibit is the aquarium’s largest addition since it opened in 2019 and stars three female alligators — Callie, Oceola, and Allie, all rescued by the Reptile & Amphibian Discovery Zoo (RAD Zoo) in Medford, Minnesota. It is also home to three rescued red-eared sliders and one rescued river cooter (all turtles).

“We are always looking for ways to grow our educational opportunities here at Living Shores,” Chris Kearsing, general manager, said in a statement. “In 2025, we are all about the reptiles as we open multiple new exhibits and bring a little slice of The Florida Everglades to the granite state as we introduce New Hampshire’s only alligator habitat.”

Callie, a 3 1/2 foot long gator found by a fisherman, is described by the aquarium as “a rambunctious teen” who is the smallest of the three. She is expected to reach upwards of 5 feet.

Osceola is a 5 foot long gator rescued from a breeding facility who is also in her teens. She is a shy gator, but loves to be seen by visitors because she positions herself up close to people whether she’s in the water or on land, according to the aquarium. She is expected to grow between 8 and 10 feet long.

Allie, at 70 pounds and 5 1/2 feet long, is the dominant gator and oldest of the bunch. She is in her mid-20s and loves to swim in the exhibit’s pond.

Besides gators, visitors at the 32,000 square-foot aquarium can see sharks, tropical fish, turtles, native species, and more. Guests at the facility learn about the oceans and native New England lakes, touch stingrays, and take part in other immersive activities. The aquarium also hosts daily talks about sea life by its education ambassadors and animal care team.

In celebration of the new exhibit, Living Shores is giving away four single day tickets. Those interested can visit www.livingshores.com/sweepstakes. The sweepstakes runs through Feb. 11 and a winner will be randomly selected and contacted by the aquarium on Feb. 12.

Living Shores Aquarium, located near Story Land amusement park, is open seven days a week from Father’s Day to Labor Day and on Friday through Monday during the rest of the year. The aquarium has special hours during holiday and school vacation weeks.
