For travelers already searching for winter getaways, a new route from Boston to the Caribbean was announced this week.

Dominican airline Arajet will expand to Boston’s Logan International Airport, marking the carrier’s second U.S. gateway in the Northeast, according a press release. The airline will offer four weekly, non-stop flights from Boston to Las Américas Santo Domingo Airport in the Dominican Republic beginning Nov. 20.

Arajet travelers can connect to more than 25 destinations from Santo Domingo, including Aruba, Colombia, Costa Rica, and more.

Flights, which are available to book now, start at $170 and will depart Boston on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

“The Boston area is home to one of the largest Dominican communities in the U.S. and serves as a key hub for education, business, and tourism,” said Victor Pacheco, CEO and founder of Arajet in a statement.

In addition to its Boston expansion, Arajet is planning to add twice weekly, non-stop flights from Santo Domingo to Buenos Aires’ Ministro Pistarini International Airport in Argentina on Dec. 12.

Arajet, the flagship airline of the Dominican Republic, began operating in 2022 and has two bases at Las Américas Santo Domingo and Punta Cana International Airport. The airline’s presence in Boston will complement its existing service from Newark Liberty International Airport.
