Delta Air Lines will resume service between Boston and a Caribbean destination this holiday season after a three year pause.

The carrier says it will launch service between Boston and St. Thomas in December due to popular demand. The daily nonstop service will run between Dec. 20 and Jan. 5, 2026. The route was last flown in 2022.

Delta provided the following statement about why the service was discontinued: “Delta continually evaluates and makes changes to its network based on customer demand. As we see demand continue to increase for travel to Saint Thomas from Boston, we have made the decision to add this special service once more to meet that demand. We look forward to welcoming customers onboard this holiday season.”

Travelers will fly from Boston’s Logan International Airport to Cyril E. King International Airport on St. Thomas.

“This new service will provide customers with the unique opportunity to spend the holidays in the Caribbean with passport-free travel to the U.S. Virgin Islands,” wrote the company in a press release.

The airline is also increasing service between Boston and Cancun from once to twice daily between Dec. 20 and Jan. 5, 2026. Cancun is the most popular Mexico destination from Boston, noted the airline.

It’s all part of the carrier’s recently announced “largest-ever winter schedule to Latin America and the Caribbean.” As part of that schedule, Delta is adding two new nonstop destinations from Atlanta: St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Grenada.
