Frontier Airlines is providing more ways for Bostonians to escape the cold this winter.
The Denver-based ultra low-fare carrier announced new nonstop service between Logan Airport and two Florida cities on Tuesday — Miami and Tampa. The service begins Dec. 17.
Flights to Miami will operate four times a week and flights to Tampa will operate daily from Logan Airport, according to the airline.
“Just in time for the cold New England winter months, we are thrilled to expand our service at Boston Logan International Airport with the addition of these two popular Florida destinations,” said Josh Flyr, vice president of network and operations design of Frontier Airlines, in a statement. “There is strong demand for affordable air service to Miami and Tampa, and we are proud to offer consumers low-cost travel to MIA, TPA, and beyond from Boston.”
In celebration of the new routes, Frontier is offering a $49 promotional fare to Miami and a $29 promotional fare to Tampa, both of which must be purchased by Oct. 7.
With the new routes, Frontier will serve 10 destinations from Boston.
In March, Frontier introduced Upfront Plus, an upgraded seating option in which travelers enjoy a window or aisle seat with extra legroom and a guaranteed empty middle seat.
