The New Kids on the Block hit was one of many Boston-inspired songs used in the video full of dancing, singing, sign-holding, and hand-washing from United employees.

In one scene, workers changed the words to Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline,” of Fenway Park fame, while dancing around a cutout of Wally before a miniature Green Monster. They sang: “Hands, washing hands. Reaching out. Don’t touch me, I won’t touch you.”

There’s also a bathroom scene, set to “Dirty Water” by The Standells, where employees emerge from stalls holding up signs that say “Wash your hands,” “Share the love not the virus,” and “We miss you.” In another scene, “Walk this Way” by Aerosmith plays while flight attendants dance through the aisles of an aircraft.

Departures at Logan Airport have reduced dramatically during the pandemic — there was a 96.6 percent decrease between March 30 and April 5, according to Massport.

United executives Oscar Munoz and J. Scott Kirby wrote a letter to the company’s nearly 100,000 employees last week, writing that, thanks to the payroll support program under the CARES Act, they can pay employees through Sept. 30, but they expect travel demand to “remain suppressed” and expect its workforce to become smaller beginning Oct. 1.
