Cape Cod to host its first Jewish Culture Festival
The event will take place at Chabad Lubavitch of Cape Cod in Hyannis.
Cape Cod is gearing up for its first Jewish Culture Festival.
The festival, made possible by a grant from the Rosalyn and Richard Slifka Charitable Foundation, will take place Aug. 17 at Chabad Lubavitch of Cape Cod in Hyannis from 2 to 5 p.m.
“It’s not just about the food, music, or fun — though there’s going to be plenty of that,” said Rabbi Yekusiel Alperowitz, director of Chabad Lubavitch of Cape Cod and festival organizer, in a statement. “It’s about joining together in celebration of our rich Jewish culture with joy and pride. We’re excited to share vibrant Jewish music, art and cuisine with the entire Cape Cod community.”

The festival will feature a musical lineup headlined by Brookline native and Jewish rapper Nosson Zand and the Parnessim Klezmer & Jazz Band. Local Cape Cod musicians Bart Weisman and Ron Ormsby will also perform.
Food will include a classic New York kosher deli brought by Mendy’s Delicatessen and select Israeli wines by Wesley Krell of the Guthrie Schofield Real Estate Group.
Local artists and makers will showcase handmade crafts, Judaica, and local art, and family-friendly activities will include inflatables, face painting, and crafts.
The festival will welcome visitors of all faiths and backgrounds.
“Now is the time to join together, to celebrate, to belong,” said Devorah Alperowitz, co-director of Chabad Lubavitch of Cape Cod, in a statement. “This inaugural festival represents Cape Cod’s commitment to celebrating the diversity and rich cultural traditions that make our community special.”

The festival will include onsite security the entire time “to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all attendees,” according to organizers. Parking will be available across the street from the festival at the Barnstable High School.
Tickets cost $20 online and $25 at the door for adults, and children under age 12 are $10.
Chabad Lubavitch of Cape Cod is dedicated to enriching Jewish life and community on Cape Cod and has centers in Hyannis, Falmouth, Nantucket, and Martha’s Vineyard.
