New England’s first Margaritaville Resort will open this summer on Cape Cod.
The former Cape Codder Resort & Spa in Hyannis is undergoing a $30 million renovation and rebranding, opening as Margaritaville Resort Cape Cod. The property is managed by Plymouth-based hospitality management company Linchris.
The year-round hotel will feature 272 island-inspired rooms and suites with expansive showers and private balconies. Amenities will include a full-service spa, outdoor pool, fitness center, and Margaritaville-themed restaurants LandShark Bar & Grill and 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar. The resort’s littlest guests will play in the Fins Up! Indoor Water Park, Fin City Arcade, and Parakeets Kid’s Club.
“The refreshed resort will be firmly rooted in the Margaritaville state of mind, while giving guests an entirely fresh and elevated experience that is quintessentially Cape Cod,” according to the Jimmy Buffet-inspired hotel chain, which has dozens of locations worldwide.
Singer/songwriter Buffet died in September at age 76.

“Cape Cod is a place with so much history, charm, and personality – it’s the perfect location for our first New England lodging destination,” said Rick Cunningham, senior vice president of development at Margaritaville, in a statement. “Our resorts bring together thoughtful amenities and tropical design elements that provide guests with reimagined travel experiences, and Margaritaville Resort Cape Cod promises the same.”
Travelers with existing reservations for Cape Codder Resort & Spa in 2024 will be accommodated when the hotel opens as Margaritaville Resort Cape Cod and there’s “no action required” by guests, the team wrote on Facebook.
