New Englanders who channel their inner Charlie Bucket this spring and summer may win a Nantucket getaway.
Cisco Brewers, which was founded on Nantucket, hid 500 golden cans among its typically blue-canned Whale’s Tale Pale Ale 12-packs across New England for a Golden Whale’s Tale Sweepstakes. Instead of winning a trip to the chocolate factory — as Charlie did in the 1971 classic movie “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factor” — Cisco fans can win a chance at a free Nantucket vacation.
One lucky winner will win a trip to Nantucket during a random drawing in September valued at $3,900, which includes four round-trip ferry tickets from Hyannis to Nantucket, a $3,000 hotel gift card for accommodations, and a $500 gift card to Cisco Brewers Nantucket.
Those who find a golden can of beer can enter the sweepstakes by filling out an online form and uploading a photo of the can.
Can’t find a golden can? No problem. Cisco Brewers is less strict than Willy Wonka and will let you enter anyway by filling out the same form.
Participants must live in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New York, and be 21 years old.
The sweepstakes ends on Aug. 31 at 11:59 p.m.
Nantucket, with its gorgeous beaches, cobblestone streets, charming boutiques, and seaside restaurants, was recently named one of the best places to travel worldwide in May by Conde Nast Traveler and among the best girls’ weekend getaway destinations by Good Housekeeping.
