Watch Grant give out his first impression rose

It’s January, so you know what that means: “The Bachelor” is SO back. The newest season kicks off Jan. 27, and Parlor Sports in Somerville is hosting Monday-night watch parties all season long. Eat ice cream for breakfast

Prove you’re the smartest friend

Clue: A fun way to spend a Wednesday night in Southie. Answer: What is … “Jeopardy” nights at Fresh? Correct! The beloved sandwich shop is hosting Jeopardy watch parties on Wednesday. A perfect excuse to show off your brilliance to folks aside from your roommate. (Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 7 p.m.; 232 Old Colony Ave., Boston; free)

Let’s talk about sex, baby!

This “Awkward Sex and the City” show on Thursday is exactly what it sounds like: Comedian Natalie Wall reliving intimate tales and sexual misadventures for your pleasure. Long story short: This show is all about shedding light on taboo subjects — like sex — with humor and levity. Think: Cocaine-infused one night stands and to IBS flare ups during sexy time. (Thursday, Jan. 30 at 7 p.m.; 255 Elm St., Somerville; starts at $15)

Ring in the Year of the Snake

Jan. 29 marks the first day of Lunar New Year, and there will be celebrations across the city over the next two weeks. On Thursday, head over to the MFA for its Lunar New Year celebration, where you can enjoy $5 minimum, pay-what-you-wish general admission starting at 5 p.m. and find special events, including drop-in art-making, museum tours, and traditional lion dances. Or go to Bow Market for a Lunar New Year Night Market, which will have food and drink specials, an AAPI maker market, and also a lion dance. (Thursday, Jan. 30 at 5 p.m.; multiple locations)

Watch your favorite TikTok comedian IRL

Level up your chess game

The classic game gets a creative twist at the Boston Creative Chess Club. Expect the core gameplay to stay the same, just with a few changes like the number of players, the board design, even the rules. Basically, it’s chess with a little spice. On the menu this week: loka chess, proteus chess, peace chess, and more. (Saturday, Feb. 1 from 12 to 2:30 p.m.; 1350 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge; free)

Keep Dry January going into February

It’s actually easier than it sounds, especially if you hit up the Boston Cocktail Mocktail Challenge at Time Out Market. Spend the day sipping and sampling some of the best mocktails (or cocktails, you do you) in town. Your votes will help crown the best drinks of the event. (Saturday, Feb. 1 from 1 to 3 p.m.; 401 Park Drive, Boston; starts at $19)

Grab your leg warmers back out

It’s time to bust out all those neon leggings you stashed in a box. First Street Market is hosting “Risky Fizzness,” an upbeat ‘80s-themed tasting party of all things sparkling wine.
