The Savannah Bananas have taken the hearts of baseball fans around the world, bringing energy and entertainment wherever they go.
After playing two games at Fenway Park this past summer, the Bananas announced they will be debuting at Gillette Stadium during next year’s tour on Aug. 28 and 29.
Tickets for this event will be drawn randomly from a lottery, which you can sign up for on the Bananas’ website anytime between now and Nov. 1. Pricing for the Gillette games will be $40 for standard tickets, or $125 for Meet and Greet tickets.
The comedy-baseball team, which was formed in 2016, has continued to grow in recent years. The Bananas really began to attract attention in 2020 when they began playing “Banana Ball”, which is their own fan-centered version of baseball. This includes rules such as if a fan catches a ball, it counts as an out as a way to increase fan engagement.

Since then, they have broken off from the Coastal Plain League and became an independent team, very similar to the Harlem Globetrotters. They now play in the “Banana Ball Championship League”.
The two games at Gillette Stadium will also be against one of the two new teams added this season, the Loco Beach Coconuts.
Along with the Coconuts, the Indianapolis Clowns have joined the Banana Ball Championship League. The Clowns have a rich history, as they were originally a part of the Negro League between 1935-1989.
Keep an eye out for both current and past Red Sox players to possibly play in the two games at Gillette as well. This year’s games at Fenway featured former players such as Matt Barnes and Keith Foulke.
Can’t make it to Gillette in August? Don’t worry, the Banana Ball Tour will be around New England throughout the summer. While it won’t be the Savannah Bananas, other teams in the league will be playing in New Hampshire (June 18-20), Connecticut (July 23-25), and in Maine (July 24-25).
