Fans of James Beard Award-winning chef Joanne Chang may know her best for pecan-studded sticky buns or pork-and-chive dumplings — but how is the sushi dreamt up by the formidable founder of Flour Bakery and Myers + Chang? Find out Nov. 11 to 13, when Chang rolls out a special takeout menu in collaboration with Cambridge favorite, Cafe Sushi. Part of The Classics, a campaign by online reservation platform Resy honoring essential restaurants across the country, the acclaimed chef chose Cafe Sushi because it’s her “special spot. It’s also many, many Bostonians’ and Cantabrigians’ special spot,” she writes for Resy’s blog. “Ask any chef in Boston where they go for sushi and they will all say Cafe Sushi — they consistently offer top-quality food in an unassuming environment with warm, welcoming service for a reasonable price.”
The Classics Remix: Joanne Chang x Cafe Sushi is available for takeout only, featuring an edamame and celery slaw; six pieces of nigiri in Cafe Sushi’s creative style (think: yellowtail kingfish topped with lemon-sesame kimchi); an eight-piece papaya salad maki roll; and a chocolate tofu mousse with candied amanatsu orange peel.
