The James Beard Foundation hands out some of the most prestigious culinary awards in the U.S. each spring, but during the rest of the year, the organization is the entire restaurant industry’s cheerleader. Festivities return in 2022 with the nationwide dinner series Taste America, which brings together acclaimed chefs in support of local restaurants rebuilding in more sustainable and equitable ways.

On Jan. 11, JBF Taste America stops in Boston for a one-of-a-kind dinner at Woods Hill Pier 4. Hosted by Woods Hill chef Charlie Foster and guest chef Elizabeth Falkner of Los Angeles, the multi-course menu reflects each chef’s unique cooking style. Massachusetts native Foster is a rising star of sustainability in cuisine as executive chef of Woods Hill Pier 4 and its Concord sister restaurants, Woods Hill Table and Adelita, which all use the seasonal bounty of The Farm at Woods Hill in Bath, New Hampshire. Cookbook author and consulting chef Falkner is well-known as a competitor and occasional judge on many TV cooking competitions including The Next Iron Chef, Chopped All Stars, and Top Chef.
