Celebrate seasonal seafood at Bar Mezzana. Reagan Byrne

No matter the night at Bar Mezzana, seafood lovers are well-served by a menu that highlights coastal cuisine of the Italian persuasion. So as Christmas Eve draws near, of course the South End spot is setting its sights on a festive Feast of the Seven Fishes, when it’ll serve a symphony of seasonal seafood on Dec. 23. Tickets include a cocktail hour beginning at 5:30 p.m., followed by seven courses that put a twist on the Italian holiday tradition. Chef Colin Lynch will dress up bay scallop crudo with tangerine, nori, and Asian pear; baked oysters will be stuffed with chorizo and spinach; lobster ravioli gets a lift from Calabrian chili; there’s a monkfish and oxtail surf-and-turf in the works; and more. Tickets are $120 per person with an optional $55 wine pairing. Reservations are required and available online. Call the restaurant at 617-530-1770 with any questions or dietary-restriction requests (note: a finfish aversion cannot be accommodated).
