Get ready for a mighty craic on Oct. 23, as the Boston Irish Beer Fest returns to Canton. The all-day celebration takes over the grounds of the Irish Cultural Centre of New England with two tents for live music, dancing, and entertainment, including an adult tug-o-war competition at 5 p.m. and kid-friendly activities from noon to 3 p.m. Adults can sample imported Irish ales, stouts, and craft brews; local Celtic beers, Irish cider, and whiskey — and stay warm with hot toddies and Irish coffee made with some of Ireland’s premier spirits. The ICC Kitchen is dishing up classic fare like Guinness stew, Kerrygold cheeseburgers, seafood chowder, and fish and chips. Kid-friendly activities kick off the festivities with face painting, a petting zoo, inflatable soccer, arts and crafts, and opportunities to meet New England Revolution mascot Slyde the Fox, Snow White, and Spiderman characters. Parking is free and the stages are under tents—but those hot toddies should keep you plenty warm, no matter the weather.
