Dressing up for a charity gala is fun and all, but what if you could enjoy a meal to support one of Boston’s most dynamic organizations while wearing your slippers instead? Here’s your chance: Haley House’s annual Boston Souper Bowl returns to a virtual format this year, providing donors with a quart of soup and loaf of bread along with a handmade bowl to enjoy at home.

The 14th annual event is a fundraiser for the Roxbury organization, which uses food to further its mission of empowering the most vulnerable people in Boston. Started in 1966 as a soup kitchen in the South End, Haley House has expanded services to provide housing and job training, among other community efforts to help people impacted by the harshest effects of inequality.

Local chefs provide the soups. This year’s six options include a Cabo Verdean stew from Fresh Food Generation; a vegan-friendly Coconut Curry Borscht by Irene Li of Mei Mei; and a Squash, Pork Belly, and Swiss Cheese Soup from chefs Biplaw Rai and Kwasi Kwaa, of Dorchester’s forthcoming Comfort Kitchen, among others.

The Souper Bowl is in partnership with MassArt’s Clay for Change club at the school’s Center for Art and Community Partnerships. This year, the event is sponsored by Northeastern’s Office for City and Community Engagement and the Office of City and Community Relations at UMass Boston.

Supporter tickets are $50 and include a ceramic bowl crafted by a MassArt student, a quart of locally-made soup, and bread from Haley House Bakery Café. The $75 Souper Supporter level includes a tote bag and pack of chocolate chip cookies, too.

Tickets are on sale Feb. 2, and ticket-holders will pick up their Souper Bowl bundles at 12 Dade St. in Nubian Square on Sunday, Feb. 20.
