The Baseball Beanpot is set to return to Fenway Park in April for the first time since the pandemic.

The Baseball Beanpot tournament will be held on Tuesday, April 29 between Boston College, Northeastern, Harvard, and UMass.

The tournament was canceled in 2020 and 2021 because of Covid-19, then took place in O’Donnell Field in 2022 and Harrington Athletic Village in 2023 and 2024.

BC holds the most championships at 15 after losing their chance to three-peat last year. UMass and Northeastern each hold seven titles. NU earned last year’s championship, while UMass last won the tournament in 2019. Harvard holds five championships with their latest win being in 2018.

The tournament has seen many adjustments since it first launched in 1990.

From 1990 to 1995, the teams included was Northeastern, Harvard, BC and Boston University. BU disbanded their Divison 1 baseball team in 1995, ending their participation without a championship.

The following two years, Northeastern also dropped from the tournament. UMass was invited to be the third team, accompanying Harvard and BC. In 1998, Northeastern rejoined the tournament, adding the consolation game back into the tournament.

In 2007, due to a scheduling conflict, Harvard could not play at the consolation game against UMass. Holy Cross was invited to play in the consolation game instead, which they won 8-3.
