From handmade Nantucket baskets to jewelry derived from natural elements to vibrant and whimsical acrylics, Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park is filled with the best Boston’s local art scene has to offer during The Boston Arts Festival.

Taking place on the second weekend of September, this annual event is free to the public and showcases the visual and performing arts in Boston with more than 70 hand-picked visual artists and craftspeople spotlighting their work against a backdrop of local musicians performing on the Waterfront Stage throughout the day. The event also serves as a jumping off point for Boston’s Arts Open Studios season, which takes place throughout the fall in local neighborhoods.
