Where to watch Halloween pet parades in Massachusetts

Take your furry friends out for some Halloween fun at one of these pet parades – and send a photo of your pet in their costume.

Are you and your canine companion looking to show of your most paw-some costume yet? If so, these seven pet parades across the state are a fur-tastic way to keep the Halloween spirit going. 

With events for the people of all ages, these festivities are a great way to enjoy the cool fall air, spend time with family and friends, and get the chance to win some prizes.

Head to the spooky capital of the Northeast for Salem Main Streets’ annual pet parade and contests. Proceeds generated from ticket sales are used by Salem Main Streets to continue community programming year round.

Oct. 12; 11 a.m.; Derby Wharf, Salem

Enjoy some fall fun at Peters Park with a pet costume parade, pet-related vendors, dog-friendly pumpkin spice lattes, and other activities.

Oct. 19; 9 a.m.; 1205 Washington St., South End

Head to Broken Creek Vineyard for a parade and one free wine tasting per dog per person that comes with their pup dressed up for attendees 21 and older. The event will also have a handful of vendors and the chance to win prizes for dogs and their owners. All dogs must be on a leash.

Oct. 19; 1:00 p.m. (parade starts at 2 p.m.); 614 South St., Shrewsbury

Bring out the whole family for an afternoon of activities, games, and music hosted by Kennedy K9 Camp. Dress your dog up in their best costume for a chance to win a free day of daycare with the photoshoot competition.

Oct. 20; 11 a.m.; 432 R Plymouth St., Halifax

Take your pup’s Halloween costume out for a spin at the 10th annual Doggone Halloween. Enter to win one of the Halloween-themed costume contests, including Best Costume, Scariest Costume, Cutest Costume, Best Human and Dog Duo, and Best Child and Dog Duo. 

Oct. 26; 12 p.m.; Washington St. at Franklin St., Downtown Boston

Have your dogs stunt in their most stylish costume while supporting a good cause at the 20th anniversary of the Jamaica Plain Canine Costume Parade. This event will feature a red carpet contest, prizes, and music from the JP Honk Band. All of the proceeds generated from registering dogs for the costume competition will go to the City of Boston Animal Shelter.

Oct 26; 12 p.m.; 633 Centre St., Jamaica Plain

This family-fun event is giving back to the community in the process. Dress up your children and pets in their costume and bring one non-perishable food item to help fight food insecurity in Framingham. The rain date for the event is Nov. 3.
