Enjoy art installations, games, food, and live performances this fall during “Color Flows on Winter Street” in Boston’s Downtown Crossing.
The multi-week, free, interactive event hosted by the city launched on Oct. 11 and runs through Nov. 16. The event is part of the city’s effort to make the streets “safer, more engaging, and enjoyable for all,” according to officials.
Visitors will discover food and beverage vendors, including local restaurant jm Curley; a light installation; public art, including a street mural by Massiel Grullón; interactive games; and cultural programming.
The event will also bring a family festival and block party to Downtown Crossing. Color Flows Family Fest, taking place Oct. 25, will welcome families for a Doggone Halloween Pet Parade, a Boston Children’s Museum table, and a Chowderfest. Color Flows Closing Block Party, on Nov. 15 will bring music, activations, and more.
“Color Flows on Winter Street demonstrates how our streets and sidewalks can be platforms for creativity and expression as well as vibrant open spaces that foster meaningful interactions among people of all ages and backgrounds,” said Nate Lash, public realm manager for the city, in a statement. “Instead of just helping people who want to get from Point A to Point B, our streets can be places where people want to be.”
Pedestrians can enjoy the activities daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
